COMPANHIA SIDERÚRGICA NACIONAL (“CSN”), pursuant to Article 157 of Law 6,404/76 and CVM Instruction 358/02, hereby informs its shareholders and the general public that on July 20, 2007, its wholly-owned subsidiary NACIONAL MINÉRIOS S.A. (“NAMISA”) entered into a purchase agreement with the shareholders of Cia. de Fomento Mineral e Participações – CFM (“CFM”) for the acquisition of 100% of the shares issued and outstanding by CFM.
