Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) publicly informs that its cement plant is in final construction stage, expected to be operational by early 2009, with initial production estimated at 1 million tons of high-quality cement. Raw material for cement production will be blast furnace slag from President Vargas Mill owned by CSN. Annual production capacity is expected to reach 2.3 million tons by 2010.
